CONCEPT PROJECT, 2020
Digitalization of Paris transit fares
TOOL : ADOBE XD
Context :
In a world where recycling is becoming a major concern, it is important to rethink our habits and change—even on a small scale—our daily waste production. The RATP has decided to gradually phase out the use of t+ tickets in booklet form.
To take in consideration
There will be alternatives to the phase-out of cardboard t+ tickets, such as: passes with various packages tailored to your usage, and contactless t+ ticket booklets available for purchase—€2.20 cheaper than the traditional cardboard versions. You can also use your smartphone to validate your ticket through the Île-de-France Mobilités, Bonjour RATP, or SNCF Assistant apps (with a compatible phone).
This digitization will help reduce waste production. It is important to develop an application that is intuitive and easy to use, based on NFC technology, currently only compatible with Android smartphones.
Features :
The application will offer the following features:
- Digital purchase of transport tickets (passes or single-use tickets)
- Topping off of existing transport cards, such as Navigo cards
- An interactive map of the RER and Metro lines to help plan routes
- Real-time traffic updates
- One-click itinerary shortcuts to favourite addresses (e.g., home, work, school)
- Routine settings to receive personalized alerts based on traffic conditions (e.g., what time to leave home to catch your train and arrive at work on time)
