BACKGROUND :
Our professor lives in Germany and was inspired by his personal experience to create this project: in some German apartment buildings, residents do not have a washing machine in their own apartment, as laundry is done communally.
The buildings have their own laundry room, and time slot management between neighbours is handled through this sheet of paper:

To be taken in consideration
There are all kinds of residents in the apartment building — young people, seniors, families, etc. — so it’s important to create an intuitive and easy-to-use application for all age groups.
However, in my opinion, it’s necessary to keep the paper system for the older residents so as not to disrupt their habits. That said, the building manager should input the time slots chosen on paper into the system to avoid double bookings.

Additional features
To make the app more fun and neighbor-focused, a Discussion section was designed to connect all residents. It allows them to talk about daily life, post important community messages—like announcing a birthday party (and apologizing for the noise), selling furniture, offering services (babysitting, moving help, dog-sitting…), all in one single interface.
Another 'Games' section is included in the app, allowing residents to win small prizes such as laundry detergent, towels, or bed linens. Why not make the app entertaining to help pass the time while waiting in the laundry room!
